Our People...
Thanks Kiel for sending us this pic of your half Marathon medals going up on display!
From Kiel: "I have left the 5th medal holder empty till next year when I run my 5th consecutive Maraetai half marathon. Your package box makes a much better home for my other medals :-)"
The Loper and Penguin Story
Loper and Penguin is the story of 2 colleagues with a mutual appreciation for having to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Being oldies a tendency to "eat from the top paddock" and indulge in the finer things in life, running has been their torture of choice for over 10 years. "The Loper" and "The Penguin" are their self-described running styles. The Loper has long strides and can clock up some impressive running times... and some impressive leg injuries! The Penguin - not a lot of explanation needed... slowish, has a waddle going on, and is just happy to be lining up at the race start lines. The one thing that they both love about running... you guessed it!
The Bling / Medals
So what happens next with all of these hard earnt medals?
Loper chucks them in a cardboard box on a shelf, and Penguin hangs them in one big pile on the side of a dressing table mirror that's starting to buckle. Frustrated with not having anything suitable to display their medals, Loper (who got School C in woodwork) dusted off his woodwork stuff and created "The Medal Holder"! Meanwhile Penguin was in the background tweaking the design here and there. Happy with the design, look and feel, Loper and Penguin are proud to bring to you a solution to your tangled medal pile!
